On Sunday 14th April 2019, Dingup House B&B and Function Centre was the location for our inaugural Southern Forests & Valleys Wedding Fair.
With 37 of the South-West's leading Venues and Wedding Suppliers in attendance, it was a beautiful day with lots to entertain, inspire and enjoy! Whilst the weather was a bit rough in the morning and we had a few strong winds to deal with, it was nothing to the professionals who are used to the changing weather in the Southern Forests & Valleys and it didn't make any difference to our outdoor set up!
Dingup House, with its beautiful heritage listed building and gardens, grassed tennis court, which featured as our outdoor wedding market zone and the rustic barn with its licensed bar worked amazingly as the location for our first Wedding Fair. Chris and Phil offered Devonshire teas in the house gardens with homemade jam and cheese platters for 2 loaded up with bravo apple, homemade fig paste, hummus, as well as a generous array of other yumminess!! The licensed bar sold beers from Jarrah Jacks Brewery, wines from Truffle & Wine Co, Chateau June-Jerome and Newleaf Orchards Sparkling Juices, as well as a range of bubbles!
Throughout the day we had music entertainment from the amazingly talented M&M Wedding Music, Mary Myfanwy Music, Frances Armstrong and Table for Two Trio! Performing in the main marquee and on the garden stage, which was situated next to the Charlie & Collette Baravan, which was offering a beautiful array of fresh tasting waters with a hint of mint, cucumber and lime, grapefruit or lemon!
We also created a magical garden Ceremony Set-up, styled by Hire in Style and Manjimup Florist, featuring the BRAVOâ„¢ Apple, kindly donated by Newton Orchards Manjimup at my request! Big thanks to Manjimup Florist for working their magic to incorporate the fruit.
As well as this being at the heart of this stunning region, its an upcoming 2020 trend that is starting to get some coverage in Europe and I really wanted to have a play and incorporate this fruit styling into the day. We played with Black, Gold and Reds with a pop of brights! It was fun and I hope you all were inspired that on your wedding day you really can go with whatever style best suits you! Apple candles are something I will definitely do again - they are soooo effective & pretty!
For your entertainment we had two bridal fashion shows brought to you by Confetti Occasions, Perth and Southern Belle Boutique, Manjimup. There was something for everyone from the brides to the bridemaids, mothers of the bride or groom & guests!
With hourly prize draws and competitions throughout the day and awesome displays by our exhibitors, including a glamping set up by WA Wilderness, Horse Float Exhibition by Victoria Baker Photographer and a Bell Tent Reception Styling by The Style Est and The Gesture Mill there was much to excite the senses and keep couples around for a while!
Southern Forests Weddings invited Kirrily Evans Photography (coming soon to southernforestsweddings.com), Emrocchi Photography & One12 Productions to get amongst the action and help us record the memories from our special first event! Check out the gallery below featuring the first uploads from @KEPhotographyWA and keep checking in for more galleries!!
Now to start planning our 2020 event!
