Lewana Cottages: The perfect location for Scott & Lauren's rustic barn, country wedding.
On Saturday December 8th 2018, Scott married Lauren at the idyllic Lewana Cottages, near Balingup. With the exclusive use of the venue, they held their ceremony overlooking the dam and had their reception in the beautiful heritage listed barn.
Hear all about their day here...…

Scott and I have been together since 2009, so this year is our 10 years! We met in year 9 at Carine Senior High School in Perth. Scott proposed on Thursday 20th April 2017 in Kings Park. We watched the sunset and enjoyed a romantic picnic together, which included a very special bottle of Bollinger Champagne.

We chose to get married in the Southern Forests & Valleys Region of Western Australia, as it is a beautiful rural area surrounded by forests, which was perfect for our rustic barn country wedding.
Josie Arnold, a local South West Wedding Celebrant, was amazing to work with. She personalised our ceremony and had our guests in tears (happy ones!) and laughter. It was a beautiful ceremony held on the banks of the dam, witnessed by our 60 wedding guests.
The details:
~ Wedding Dress: I bought my wedding dress from Bunbury Bridal and Ball. It was the second wedding dress I tried on! My mum and I fell in love with it straight away, we knew it was the one.

~ Bridal Party: I had 4 bridesmaids who wore navy blue. They had a very natural styling on the day to match the country wedding theme.
~ Groom & Groomsmen: Scott wore a M J Bale navy blue suit and the groomsmen hired their suits from Tony Barlow. They all matched the bridesmaids.
~ Rings: White Gold, Classic!
~ Flowers: The flowers were from local florist, Bloomin Bridgetown. They did an amazing job and created exactly what I asked for. The white roses with the green gum was the perfect combination and marched the natural location of the wedding.
~ Photographer: We had Red Eclectic. Kay Wray was so wonderful, she captured the day exactly how we wanted, which was relaxed, not posed and just us enjoying the day with our closest family and friends.
~ Event Planner/Stylist: My mum and I worked together to create and style the day, with me as the event planner.
~ Did you hire any equipment? No, the lighting and dance floor was already at Lewana Cottages, so it was good to go.
Reception in the Heritage listed rustic barn...
We enjoyed a large grazing table, Peace Pizza food truck, a pig on a spit, as well as 'That Little Gelato Cart' for dessert! We wanted to have a grazing event, rather than a traditional sit down style and it was perfect. Our guests enjoyed the variety!
The pig on the spit was Scott's one request. We were able to make that dream come true for the groom & he was a very happy man.
Lastly - What was your favourite moment/moments from your special day?
There are so many but a couple of my favourite moments were;
Walking down the aisle with my Dad and seeing Scott at the ceremony for the first time.
During our photographs Scott and I were able to have some time together to take a moment and enjoy what had just happened! We were finally husband and wife!
Our first dance. Scott and I aren't huge dancers so this was special for us. When our parents and my grandparents joined us on the dance floor it was beautiful and created super special memories. All in all it was a perfect day!!
